The Philips WACS7000 Streamium Music System base station has its own 80GB hard disk and a CD drive too, which can be used to rip discs at bitrates of up to 320kbits/sec. Track names are looked up on the preloaded Gracenote database so there's no need at all to involve a PC at any stage of the proceedings if you don't want, or just can't face, the complication.

Also among the improvements is a USB slot on the top of each player, which enables you to plug in a thumb drive or your iPod, browse, play and copy tracks to and from the base station's hard disk, with a dedicated iPod cradle available as an optional extra.

Wireless streaming
With wireless streaming, you don't need to download and store large music files on our audio device. Instead, you can listen to favourite songs as they are continuously streamed to all the Music Stations - at the same time. Have your music follow you from room to room with Music Follows Me - no need to restart navigation and playback. Music Broadcast simultaneously broadcasts the music you want from the Centre to all Stations. And with My Room, My Music, any family member can enjoy selected music from the stored collection in any room that is equipped with a Wireless Music Centre or Station.

80 GB hard disk/1500 CDs
The 80 GB hard disk offers a very large capacity for you to store your digital music files. It easily holds up to 1500 CDs of your music collection, and the recording speed is so fast that you can basically play and rip a particular song almost at the same time.

USB Direct-MP3/WMA
With the USB Direct mode, you can simply select the music on a USB device and playback all your content. All you have to do is plug in your USB device to playback music or export content from the device.
